Unveil the hidden secrets about Marie-Antoinette's life

Guided by Edith D.

About this activity
Marie Antoinette is remembered for her legendary excesses and for her death, she was executed in 1793 for the crime of treason. She was also a fascinating queen who was seen as a fashion icon and trendsetter of her time. She revamped fashion in Versailles with stunning, glamorous costumes and outfits and extravagant hairstyle. Her avant-garde style and original "pouf" that stands for big hair made her a fashion "pioneer". On this tour we will stop in the Swedish institute where her friend Madame de Polignac used to live, 2 places that were jails during the Terror and where her best friend, la Princesse de Lamballe, was murdered, The Hôtel de Soubise, the front door of the house of famous French theater play writer, Beaumarchais, and finally we will end in the cafė where a fashion designer strongly inspired by Marie-Antoinette, John Galliano, ended his career.
Come with me to learn about this famous lady and her influence on Paris!

Explore the Montmartre of Amélie Poulain with Edith
The experience of Montmartre like if we were Amelie (we are great fans) was very exciting and fun! We could take pictures to the very same spots as in the movie, and Edith had plenty of fun facts to tell us about the story and Montmartre. We recommend the experience!
