Picasso Museum
The Place des Vosges is the oldest in Paris and owing to its construction it became one of the most appealing and top-notch districts of the city. Marais was the area of the upper classes, who built many palaces there, for a long time. One of the most emblematic buildings is the Hôtel Salé, which was built in 1659 and is today home to the Musée Picasso. This museum was inaugurated in 1985 and the works of one of the best artists of all times have been exhibited therein. Not only do they represent a specific part of his life, but also manifest an evolution and the styles of different periods and places. This collection is certainly focused on the paintings and sculptures created by the artist, though it also shows pottery, drawings and engravings. The collection is backed by documents and texts belonging to Picasso and help to understand his ideas and life in a better way. His photographs over the course of his life make up for one of the best artistic ensembles of Picasso that can be found on the continent.
